A cure for allergy is attainable.

The Schroeder Allergy and Immunology Research Institute (SAIRI) at McMaster University is advancing evidence-based approaches to address the causes and impact of allergy, while training the allergy researchers of the future.

SAIRI is leveraging McMaster’s expertise and proven bench-to-bedside research methodology to accelerate allergy treatment and allergy prevention simultaneously.

Institute members have already made notable contributions to our understanding of allergic diseases, paving the way for new diagnostic tools, therapeutic approaches and preventive strategies. By working collaboratively across multiple disciplines, and by harnessing bioinformatics tools to analyze the massive dataset they have collected relating to the origins of allergy and the mechanisms responsible for life-long food allergy, they continue to generate new evidence, designing and evaluating interventions to inform policy and practice and, most importantly, positively impact the day-to-day lives of allergy sufferers.
